Hills Salvage & Recycling Ltd are the UK’s leading Vehicle Recycling Company, based in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. Due to continued expansion of the business, we are looking to recruit a professional and trustworthy Accounts/Payroll Assistant to join our Head Office team, based at our Headquarters in Skelmersdale, Lancashire.

The key responsibilities for payroll assistant would include the following:

  • Essential experience in Sage 50 Payroll
  • Processing payroll weekly & fortnightly using Sage 50 Payroll
  • Payroll Correspondence and administration
  • Payroll queries
  • Assisting with Recruitment & Inductions
  • Manage HR training Portal
  • Assist and support departmental Managers
  • Previous HR Experience

The key responsibilities for accounts assistant would include the following:

  • Manage key customer accounts
  • Credit Control
  • Purchase ledger
  • Purchase Order / Purchasing assistant
  • Bank Reconciliation and bank payments
  • Reports on debtors and creditors
  • Working with third party software packages. Training provided

Essential Skills Required:

  • Proficient in using Sage 50 Accounting and Sage 50 Payroll
  • Windows Microsoft knowledge essential, proficient in Excel
  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy essential.
  • Prepared to work in a fast-paced office environment
  • Friendly and reliable individual with a positive, enthusiastic and ‘can-do’ attitude to work

This role will suit someone with high levels of energy and ambition, who is extremely reliable and self-motivated, can demonstrate flexibility and is capable of working with a degree of autonomy, able to communicate with customers and colleagues at all times and in a professional manner.

Type of Position:

Job Hours:  40 Hours per week -Working Days:  Monday – Friday Hours of Work:  08:45 – 17:15.

Rate of Pay:  Competitive – Negotiable / Dependant on Experience
